BJCP Style Guidelines

The list below includes the 23 major categories of beer (according to the BJCP, others have different opinions).  Below each category is a lettered subcategory.  So, for instance, Category 13 is the category for Stout.  Subcategory C is for Oatmeal Stout.  Therefore, if I reference “13C”, I’m talking about Oatmeal Stout.  I generally try to actually type out the name of the style rather than say things like “there are striking similarities between 13F and 12C” or “man, I had some good 17B the other day.”

So here’s the list..to get more information on any style, just click on the category or subcategory name.  For now, I’m just providing links to the current style guidelines hosted on the BJCP website.
